YVONNE RACQUEL CARRIERE

1993 - 2026

After a lengthy illness, Yvonne Racquel Carriere passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on September 11, 2026. She was 33 years old. She leaves to mourn her father and mother, Dennis and Colleen Carriere, her younger brother Kevin Ryan Carriere, her grandmother Doreen Carriere and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

In her healthier years, Yvonne enjoyed being with people and socializing. She was very artistic; excelling in crochet and needlework. She delighted in making toys and blankets for family and friends. She was also a prolific writer; creating stories about her pet dogs that were a huge part of her life, and journaling her experiences.

Despite being unable to physically be with people outside of her home, especially in her final months, Yvonne was part of a large online community of friends from all over Canada and the US. Many of them became her close personal friends, often sharing hours talking and giving each other encouragement. Our family wishes to thank them all for their heartfelt gifts of flowers and cards, as well as to everyone in our community for the kindness and support at this difficult time.

Cremation has already taken place. Interment will be at Glen Lawn Funeral Home on September 24, 2026 where there will be a private ceremony for family.

Our beautiful daughter is now free from pain. Goodbye my sweetheart and rosebud.

  • Yvonne was one of the kindest, sweetest souls I've ever encountered (and I only knew her virtually!) To know her was to absolutely love her, and BE loved by her. Not one mean bone in her body, and always ready to help, offer advice, be a shoulder to cry on, and just be there. Her online community loved her so deeply, we will continue to always talk about her, be reminded of her, and share in the things she would have enjoyed. Thank you Yvonne for being everybody's friend - you are so, so deeply missed. Praying for all of your loved ones, and praying that you rest in peace. - Posted by: Lauren (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2026

  • I met Yvonne online about 2 years ago but it feels like I've known her my whole life. She reached out to me and it was like we'd already been friends -- I knew I'd love her immediately and I was right -- she brought such a bright light to my life. She knew how to make any day better and was just a joy not only me, but to EVERYONE she met. She always took the time to check in on everyone who had the pleasure of being loved by her -- no matter what was going on in her own life. I find myself wishing daily to be able to reach out and share the tiniest things with her, but I find comfort knowing she is at peace now. I am forever grateful for the time I got to spend loving and being loved by her. Sending so, so much love to her family and friends. ♥️ - Posted by: Kara (Online friend) on: Sep 25, 2026

  • I was very lucky to call Yvonne a friend. I haven't known many people who shared her warmth and her brightness. She was a uniquely uplifting person who encouraged those around her and shared in their joy. Her love of art and community contributed to how welcoming and sweet she was, allowing introverts and extroverts alike to admire and appreciate her friendship. Art was the core of what we shared, and I am endlessly grateful for the talks we shared and the little moments when she'd make me smile while enjoying games together or talking about the art we enjoyed. Her encouragement, joy, and kindness will last for a lifetime. Goodbye, my friend, and thank you for being here. I miss you dearly, and I hope you can rest peacefully. - Posted by: Lila Rose (Online Friend) on: Sep 25, 2026

  • I mainly knew Yvonne as "Oreo" on an online game called "Subeta" where we met a few years ago. Yvonne was one of my great friends, & we'd speak in length about our similar interests like animals, crocheting & video games, also personal things like our health struggles. She was there for me when I fell ill in the hospital last year, cheering me on through a screen. Yvonne was one of the kindest people I've met, she was always so happy & bright & loved to help people. Even though we never met in person, she's left an everlasting impression in my life & I will never forget her. I miss you friend, we'll see each other again one day... Sending love & prayers to her family & friends in this difficult time. 🕊️❤️ - Posted by: Kia (Subeta Friend) on: Sep 25, 2026

  • I got to know Yvonne on Subeta. I knew her as Oreo. She was a pure delight whenever she was on. I loved spoiling her as much as I could. She always surprised me with little gifts. She was one of the kindest, sweetest people I have ever had the privelege to get to know. Always cheerful and such a positive attitude that it spilled out all over Subeta. My heart was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. It just won't be the same without her. She will be so missed by our little community. We always looked forward to seeing her. My deepest condolences to her friends and family. May God Bless you all and hold you through this tough time. She has her wings now.. <3 Rest in Peace our sweet Oreo!! We love and miss you <3 - Posted by: Jackie (Subeta friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • I knew Yvonne through Subeta and its Discord channel. She was always so nice, so helpful and thoughtful. Sending gifts to people out of the blue, just because. She was always so positive and supportive. She really was one of the best and we feel her loss every day. I wish her family and friends (online & not online) my deep condolences. May she rest in peace. I share this pain with you from half a world away, and every day when I'm on Subeta I ask myself how can I be just a bit of a better person, just a bit more like Oreo. </3 - Posted by: Efrat (Subeta Friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • Yvonne was one of my close, dear friends for the last few years of her life. We talked every day about life, to romanticizing life, God, the world, games, my career and her relation to it, food... everything. She had such a way with words, spinning even the darkest aspects into something beautiful. Her joy made her even more beautiful no matter what she faced. Her ability to find joy in every thing was such an amazing lesson to learn and to witness. I will miss her the rest of my life. I hope Heaven is as beautiful as we imagined it to be my sweet friend. I love you toujours. - Posted by: Brandi (Friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • I'm so grateful and honored to have had Yvonne in my life, she was so creative, passionate, funny and loyal. She was always so positive and encouraging to everyone she knew. She was all our personal cheerleader, proud of everything we did, from the smallest things to the big accomplishments. She loved so fiercely, so loudly. She was the best of humanity, truly a bright shining light. A beacon of hope to so many of us. She loved us so much, and we love her. - Posted by: Gal (Friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • Yvonne was one of my best friends. We chatted daily about life and after chatting for a while, we realized we grew up in the same neighborhood, going to rival highschools even but only met online. We shared so many talks about Sailor Moon, Pick a Flick, Oomomo, and so many other places we’d both visited in the Peg. We’d share local news with each other and laugh at the craziness that comes with living in Winnipeg. She always lifted me up when I was having a hard time. And I loved chatting with her. She was forever cheerful and kind and I feel so blessed I got to be part of her life. I will forever miss my friend. I had already started shopping for our Christmas gift swap. We’d intended to make it a tradition after starting last year. She was so excited for the sticker kits I’d found for her. Rest easy, my friend. - Posted by: Erica (Online friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • I only knew Yvonne as Oreo on Subeta, but she was always so kind to everyone. Even though we are not close, I noticed that she is willing to help complete strangers. Her kindness has no bounds. Her positive energy can light up a whole room. It was always a joy to see her around. Her passing is a great loss. I am honored to have met her. We will miss her dearly. Rest in peace, friend. May we meet again in another lifetime. Sending my sincere condolences to her family. - Posted by: Sera (Subeta friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • Yvonne was one of the brightest souls I've ever met, a true light who made the world softer for all who she encountered. Her optimism, fierce loyalty, humor, and constant cheerleading inspired me on a daily basis to be the best, kindest version of myself I can be. She lit up spaces with her kind heart and knew how to make people feel seen. The world is dimmer and colder without her, but I carry her light through my love for her and I am determined to make her proud. Thank you Yvonne for being a loving, encouraging, and truly magical person. I love you. - Posted by: Jen (Friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • I am so thankful I got to know Yvonne. She was such a blessing and always so quick to celebrate victories whether large or small and to encourage others when they were not having a good day. I always hated that she understood what chronic pain was. Rest in peace my dear friend. - Posted by: Kiarda (Online friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • I'd like to offer my deepest condolences and sympathies to Yvonne's family. I didn't know much about her personal life, but I, as well as everyone on Subeta, knew her as someone whose kindness and generosity knew no bounds. She was always the first to offer help or advice, and she showed so much genuine love and care for the people around her. Yvonne was a true pillar of our community, and her warmth will be so dearly missed. For her to have shone so brightly through internet forums and messages— I can only imagine how wonderful it must have been to know her in person. Yvonne was an amazing person, and I am so grateful to have called her my friend. I am praying for peace and comfort for everyone who loved Yvonne. May she rest easy. - Posted by: Melissa (Online Friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • Yvonne was the brightest person I'd ever had the pleasure of knowing. Every day she was there with us. She was my mom friend-i'm always the mom friend and she was mine. She was always there. Every single day. She was the kindest person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was funny, kind-i keep coming back to this one-, and positive. Even when she had bad days she stayed positive because that was who she was. I still keep expecting her to just pop back into the chat and she can't. Thank you so much for being my light when mine dimmed. Thank you for being the mom friend to the mom friend. I will miss you every day but I will keep playing the games you showed me even if it's hard now because that's what you would have wanted. I love you, oreo. Bun. Yvonne. All names for one of the brightest people I've known. - Posted by: Alice (friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • Yvonne was a close friend of mine. We spoke everyday, and knowing I had someone as bright and amazing as she was in my life to talk to and laugh with so often was a blessing not lost on me. Yvonne made me into a better person by inspiring me everyday. Her positivity, humor, kindness, and passion will never be forgotten to us. Thank you for everything you taught me. I love you forever and always, my bunny friend. - Posted by: Dakota (Friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • Yvonne was a gentle soul with whom I spent some of my best times online. She was someone I could talk to for hours without tiring, and a friend I could trust with my own troubles, even though she lived across the ocean. I will always treasure her curiosity about my creative work and her encouragement of it. My deepest condolences go to her loving friends and family who were by her side. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Artur (Friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • I miss her every single day. She was my biggest cheerleader and such a positive and consistent support in my life. I'm so grateful to have known her and it brings me peace to know she knew how much she was loved. I'll continue to pray for her family at this hard time. Thanks for being my friend, Yvonne. I love you so much. Until we meet again. - Posted by: CJ (online friend) on: Sep 24, 2026

  • I met Yvonne (Oreo) through Subeta. She just happened to join a discord I was also on and she quickly became one of my good friends. She loved hearing about Hawai’i, how one day she wanted to visit and was always there when I got fed up with the site and work. She was a constant encouragement and joy, never had a mean word for anyone and was the everyone’s biggest cheerleader. The world shines just a bit less now that she is gone. At least now she is pain free, and we all miss her so much! Prayers and love to her family ♥️ - Posted by: Shelbie (Subeta friend) on: Sep 24, 2026
