It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen on September 15, 2026, in Henderson, Nevada at the age of 64 with her husband Terry and sister Carmen by her side.
Born in Winnipeg, Doreen completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and moved to Vancouver to continue her career in marketing. She later relocated to Las Vegas where she worked tirelessly as Vice President for two dermatology product development companies. Despite her cancer diagnosis, her strength, optimism, and determination remained intact.
Doreen was a fantastic cook and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining friends and family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Terry Howlett; her mother Marianne Gruber; brother Bern Gruber; sister Carmen (Neil) and their daughters Erika (John) and Stefanie; and her stepson Ryan (Shannon) and their daughters, Charlie and Arlo. She will also be missed by relatives in Austria and many close friends.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life was held in Henderson, NV.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doreen’s memory to Brain Cancer Canada or to a charity of choice.

Doreen and I were best friends from the moment the Grubers moved to Triton Bay. We shared many adventures and fun times. A favourite is taking the #14 bus downtown to just window shop down Portàge Ave., starting at Eatons and ending up at the Bay. All for two dimes! Although we lost touch.
