LINDA LOU HAYDA

(LAVALLEE)

October 5, 1950 - September 20, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Linda passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with her son by her side.

She is survived by her loving son Victor, daughter-in-law Dana, granddaughter Sara, grandsons, Victor III (Brittney), Jerimiah, Austin, and great-granddaughters, Gracie “Pumpkin”, Karly “Evil”, Ella “Boo”, Hudson “Princess”, and Jesse “Sweetie”. She will also be dearly missed by her siblings, Glen (Mareta), Phil (Lesley), Brian, Patsy (Hardy), Val (Brian), Norman (Sandy), Bev (Eugene), and Lloyd, her stepmother Pauline’s children, the Bowmans, and their families, her special sister-in-law Silvia, nieces, Tiffany (Adam) and Aimee (Kevin), great-nephew Chance, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many dear friends.

Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband Victor, her mother Theresa, stepfather Rubin, father Raymond, stepmother Pauline, mother-in-law Hilde, father-in-law Frank and great-niece Ainslie.

Throughout her life, Linda built a meaningful career in government where she dedicated herself to helping others and naturally turned co-workers into lifelong friends. Away from work, her greatest joy was simply spending time with her family and friends. Linda will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour and her bright, infectious laughter.

In her later years, Linda navigated the complex challenges of dementia, taking a heavy toll on her health and creating unspoken strain on her relationships. Compounded by the lasting ache she carried ever since the passing of her beloved husband Victor, her journey was not an easy one. It brings us great comfort to know she has now been freed of all suffering, restored and reunited with her best friend, soulmate, and husband. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten by her friends and family as she has made a strong presence.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Kildonan Extended Care for their support and compassionate care during Linda’s final days. A special thank you also goes to Leigh Purpur for her companionship and devotion to Oma during her most difficult years.

A service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate to Siloam Mission will be appreciated.
