Dad passed on September 7, 2026 at 77 years of age. Born April 16, 1949, he was raised in St. Andrews, where he lived most of his life.
He is predeceased by his mother Betty; his father Joe; his brother Ron; as well as a great many uncles, aunties, cousins, and dearest friends. Mourning his loss are son Jason (Ruby); daughter Jennifer (Brodie); longtime partner (Pauline); grandchildren, Jessica, Keira, Liam, Gracie, and Nova - and a great many others who will forever miss his, at times, raucous company.
Dad made the best of a difficult start, and went on to become a larger-than life character in Manitoba's Interlake. A drummer, charitable worker, canoeist, referee, MC, pressman, coach, radio personality, entrepreneur, councilman, courier, care-worker - dad's passion for life and debate never wavered until cancer restricted him to bed during his final hours. Dad willed to live his final days at his residence, with great dignity, courage, faith and humour. Whether cherishing and spoiling his grandchildren with everything he had, or talking Rock n' Roll, Bombers, or politics with everyone who loved to listen, Dad was an unrepentant free spirit who always cranked up the tunes to remind the heavens that he had Survived. He will be deeply missed by most who knew him; his vibrant spirit will not be easily forgotten by anyone who crossed his path.
Father Stephen Sharman will be officiating at an afternoon Memorial, held at 1:30 pm, Friday, October 16th at the Royal Canadian Legion in Selkirk, 403 Eveline Street. As per wishes, ashes will be spread over the waves at Hecla next spring.

It’s been many years since I saw my big cousin Larry but I remember his big smile and warm hug always made me feel special and I always felt he was really interested in what I had to say and what was going on in my life. Rest in peace Larry. My condolences to all his family members. - Posted by: Mardo Rae (Feledechuk) (Cousin) on: Oct 07, 2026

Pauline & Family, We are very sorry for your sad loss. I (Wendy) have known Larry forever having grown up in the St. Andrews community. I remember fondly riding bikes on McLennan Road and playing baseball with the local kids gang. It was a different time. When we met in later years your Dad always had time for a friendly conversation. Wishing you Peace in the days ahead. - Posted by: Wendy & Don Toews (Friends) on: Oct 04, 2026
