LOUISE JOAN THIBEAULT

(nee DICK)

January 2, 1939 - October 2, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Louise Joan Thibeault, on October 2, 2026, at the age of 87, at River Park Gardens in Winnipeg.

Louise was born in Winnipeg on January 2, 1939 to William and Madeleine Dick. She was a career teacher, and she finished her years in the classroom teaching French at St. Emile School. A faithful Catholic, Mom cared about everyone she met, was a wonderful listener, and always helped anyone who needed it. There was nothing Mom wouldn't do for her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she gave generously to help them get their start in life. Mom and her niece Janice were very close, and their bond lasted throughout their lives.

Mom loved to bake and was an outstanding cook. She was famous for her fudge, which she shared with so many, and it was always the first thing to disappear at family gatherings. We fondly remember Sunday roast beef dinners as a family tradition. Mom's preserves were a labour of love, and her salsa was the most famous of them all. Mom was a passionate gardener of both flowers and vegetables, and the backyard of our family home looked like a park. She also enjoyed making pottery.

Our mom is lovingly remembered by her children, Mark (Patti) and Angela (Albert); her grandsons, Keaton (Kelsey) and Carter (Lalie); her great-grandson, Dakota; and her brother, Brian (Maggie). She also leaves her many nieces and nephews, and her dear friends, Simone and Lorna. Mom's devoted friend Louise, who had been by her side since high school, visited her often. Mom was predeceased by her parents, William and Madeleine; her siblings, Margaret, Bob and Suzanne; and her beloved niece, Janice.

In the last week of Mom's life, she was surrounded by her family and friends, with her family by her side day and night. We offer heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at River Park Gardens for their exceptional care and compassion, and to her long-time doctor, Dr. Lance Crook, for his remarkable kindness and care over many years.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can all be present. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba in her memory.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
