JOCELYN DAVIS
Jocelyn Davis filled her life with adventure as a teacher, a traveller and a storyteller.
In her 97 years, she was an avid bridge player, wore pants before everyone did, travelled much of the world, raised four kids after multiple miscarriages while her husband worked weekdays in Northern Manitoba. She had a wee glass of wine every night with dinner, loved being a “twin” for a month every year, managed her own money before it was fully legal, got a university degree while women were still fighting for the right to have equal education, and was a university basketball player. She attended the theatre with the joy of a child, raised money so 19 girls in Malawi could build a Habitat for Humanity home for a random stranger, liked dessert more than dinner, and turned her career as a teacher into a retirement plan that taught many who were never able to finish high school. She walked a few miles a day for years, felt the death of two of her adult children, her husband of 63 years, two siblings, and still had time to knit Christmas stockings for the 21 grand and great-grandchildren in her life.
Wally (2015), Heather (2012) and Ralph (2013) all predeceased her, but she lives on in her “twin” Norris, her kids, Tim and Jen (Cindy), her “extra” kid Karen and her grandkids, Tabitha, Big Jason, Adam, Amanda, Toff, Little Jason, Ken, Cali and Maia, and all of their children.

Our deepest sympathies to Tim & Jen and your families. We have such wonderful memories of being neighbors on Sansome for 40 years. Many are the stories that could be told. The neighborhood was never the same once the Davis name was gone from 160. With love & sympathy, Ken & Lois Hiebert - Posted by: Ken & Lois Hiebert (Friend and former neighbors) on: Oct 10, 2026
