With sadness, we announce the passing of Marjorie McConomy in Winnipeg on October 7, 2026, at the age of 91.
Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Bob (Brenda), John (Janice), David (Tammy), and Jane (Jeff); her grandchildren, Michelle, Sean (Allison), Sharon (Dalton), Jade (Josh), Jessica (Brad), Mallory (Ryan), Georgia and Jack; and her great-grandchildren, Logan, Keegan, Preston, Patrick, Daxton, Lincoln and Ivy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ed McConomy; parents, Donald and Hazel Fulford of Athens, Ontario; and brother, Roger Fulford of Brockville, Ontario.
Born in Brockville, Marjorie grew up in nearby Athens, where she completed public school before attending business college in Brockville. It was in Brockville that she met Ed, and they were soon married. Brockville was their home for seven years before Ed’s work took the family to Toronto, Montreal and eventually Winnipeg.
Marjorie was devoted to her husband and children and dedicated herself to raising their four children. She loved hosting family dinners for holidays and special occasions, bringing everyone together around her table. She and Ed enjoyed an active social life and as the children grew older opportunities to travel together.
The family extends a special thank you to Marjorie’s caregivers at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home and Rosewood Retirement Residence for their care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or Faith Gardens Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
