Janice, aged 89, of Gimli, Manitoba peacefully passed away on October 11, 2026.
She is survived by her children: Joanne Newman (Chris Follet), James Newman, and Jacqui Vaskovich (John); grandchildren: Terri Newman (great-grandchildren - Peyton and Kolton Toomey and their father Travis Toomey), Jacob Jasper (Chantel Dubiel), Dani and Jamie Newman, and Ashley and Amanda Vaskovich. She is also survived by: her brother Alan Guild (Wilma), brother-in-law Don Newman (Shannon), step-brother-in-law Hart Millman and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Roger Newman, parents, Bernice and James Guild, siblings, Betty Guild, Elaine Wiebe (Dave), Murray Guild ( Joanne), mother-in-law Doris Millman (Ted), step-siblings-in-law: Alison Kennedy and Bob Millman, sister-in-law Audrey Ann Newman and nephew Linc Newman.
Family meant the world to Jan and she was surrounded by family in her last day with us.
Our family would like to extend to extend a huge Thank-You to all her Caregivers in these past few years.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for May 8, 2027, for both Roger and Jan at the Waterfront Centre in Gimli. More details to follow in the future.

My deepest condolences to Jan's family. Jan was my best friend for many years and we shared many lunches, coffees, memories and confidences. I will miss her terribly and my many trips to Gimli. We had been neighbours in Shorepointe Village and we continued our friendship after my husband Ron and I moved back to Winnipeg.
