I am saddened to hear that Denis Brown has passed away. More than saddened. Sometimes the circumstances of life pull friends in different directions. Both Denis and Marilyn were dear friends from our many shared years at the parish of St Bede and St Stephen. Those were good years. We all worked together in the daily life of the parish, and on many joint projects, special services, fundraisers, Vestry meetings, problem solving situations and much more. I always remember the smile on Denis’es face , pretty much every time I saw him. It was a smile that somehow made you feel that everything was right with the world and with our particular corner of the world. We knew it wasn’t exactly right, but that’s the power of a smile from a friend. If you could call yourself a friend of Denis and Marilyn, you were indeed a lucky person. Denis exemplified the very best in how we ought to be….and I know he will be sorely and deeply missed. My condolences to his wife Marilyn and to Andrew, Stephen and to sister Shirley and to the whole family. Denis lived a good life and set a good caring example for all the rest of us to remember and try to follow every day…….. Cathie Lee - Posted by: Catherine Lee (Friend) on: Oct 27, 2026

Condolences to marilyn and family Dennis kept the Saturday niners league operating almost single handedly for several years - A great accomplishment. On a more personal note his support and help with my cousin Murray McDonald was greatly appreciated. - Posted by: Brian McLeish (Friend and Fellow Saturday sixty niners curling) on: Oct 19, 2026

RIP Denis. You will be missed my friend. Upon reflection I realize we have known each other for 45 years, and all of them good years. We shared good times at Kinsmen, Winnipeg Beach golfing weekends, Sandy Hook and Links at the Lake golf courses, we even spent time in Florida for golf, meals and beach enjoyments. Stay well my friend until we meet again somewhere, some how! Take care! John Geenen - Posted by: John Geenen (Friend, fellow Kinsman & fellow golfer) on: Oct 18, 2026

My deepest sympathy to Marilyn and family. Dennis was a true gentleman and a good friend to my late husband Joe. He had a lovely nature and such a warm smile. May his memory be a blessing. - Posted by: Adrienne Pereira (Friend) on: Oct 17, 2026

We were born in different countries, belonged to different denominations, worked in different vocations, supported different political parties. The only thing we had in common was golf, and even then he had to tolerate my lack of skill. But he was a friend to the widow I married, so he became a friend to me. A good, honest, helpful friend. The world needs a lot more like him. - Posted by: John Badertscher (friend) on: Oct 17, 2026

I fondly remember Dennis's many years and many contributions, both on and off the ice, at Deer Lodge Curling. Farewell Dennis and enjoy the rewards of the 11th end. - Posted by: Marc Beaudry (Fellow curler) on: Oct 17, 2026
