GARY GESKE
Gary passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age 65 years. He is the twin brother of Billy, who passed away in 2012.
Gary worked for Olive Garden for 36 years and was well liked by both staff and guests.
Kindness is the strongest form of power in the universe. At work I saw kindness because I want to, not because I have to - that’s why I’m so famous - a poem by Gary.
Gary liked to travel; he visited England, Australia, Europe and New York City to name a few as well as many other places. Gary and his good friend Cameron enjoyed going to Tim Horton’s. Gary loved all animals, especially cats.
Left to mourn Gary’s passing are his father Bill, sisters, Shannon (Lionel and niece Summer), Laura, Whitney and Tara, Ray and Cindy Geske as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by both family and friends.
Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.

The last time I saw Gary was about a year ago after he had his retirement party. A coworker was leaving work and we had a little get together at flea whiskeys. Gary and I caught up the whole time talking about our life and about the future. I was always happy to see him on shift he would always know how to brighten up someone’s day or give great advice he will be truly missed. I still can’t believe he is not with us but I’m sure he is here in spirit. - Posted by: Oneisha Brenya (Long time coworker/ Friend) on: Oct 22, 2026

I was so terribly sad to hear the news of Gary’s sudden death. I offer my most sincere condolences to his father, his family and friends, especially Cameron Cox. I met Gary and Billy through mutual friends and acquaintances about 20 years ago. Whenever I had the chance, I would join our group downtown for coffee. We happened to go to the bar once in a while and we always has a good chuckle about how much time it would take Gary to get ready to go out. Since I moved back to Quebec in 2012, I was glad to meet again upon his passage in Montréal a few years ago. Gary was a good person and a hard worker. He will be missed. - Posted by: JEAN PIERRE WEILBRENNER (Acquaintance) on: Oct 20, 2026

My deepest condolences to Uncle Bill, Shannon, and all of Gary’s family and friends. My heart goes out to you all during this incredibly difficult time. I will always remember Gary for his kind heart and great sense of humour. Growing up, Shannon and I were often the targets of Gary’s pranks and jokes! He definitely knew how to have fun and keep us laughing. Looking back, those are the memories that make me smile. Uncle Bill and Shannon, I’m thinking of you and sending you love. I hope that, in time, the wonderful memories of Gary, his laughter, and his kind heart bring you some comfort. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by many. - Posted by: Candice Larson (Feakes) (Family Friend) on: Oct 17, 2026
