Beverley Ann Coveney passed away at the Tabor Home in Morden, MB on October 20, 2026 at the age of 91. She is survived by her son Shane (Karen), daughter Shelley (David), grandchildren, Derek (Kaitlyn) and Julie (Jeremy) and her four great-grandchildren, Sophie and Molly Hamilton and Brinley and Baylen Hildebrand. She also enjoyed the opportunity to welcome Shane's stepdaughters, Stephanie (Clint) and Andrea (Sean) into the family and keep up on their children's lives (Caleb, Clara, Cashel, and Arthur, Myles).
Bev was born on November 10, 1934, the only child of Bill and Georgina Hyndman. She grew up on the family farm south of Crandall before taking a secretarial course in Winnipeg after high school. She had positions in Winnipeg and Brandon before moving to Fort Churchill where she met Ron Coveney who was serving with the Canadian Army Signal Corps. They married on December 16, 1956 at the Crandall United Church. Following a subsequent posting to Fredericton, Ron retired from the military in 1960, and they returned to Crandall to the Harvey Hyndman farm before moving over to her parents' farm in 1968. When her children were older, Bev returned to secretarial work, enjoying several years at the Birdtail River School Division offices in Crandall, and later at a law office in Hamiota. Bev appreciated her time on the farm and loved being around the many animals, taking pride in the build-up of a mixed farming operation, and tending to a large garden.
In 1996, Bev and Ron sold the farm and built a home in Morden to be closer to Shelley and family. During this period, they were able to travel to many destinations across Canada, the US, the Caribbean, the UK, Europe, Brazil and Australia/New Zealand. In 2010, Ron passed away and Bev decided to move to the Homestead South Assisted Living in Morden where she stayed active in favourite pursuits such as shuffleboard, sewing, quilting and bridge.
The family would like to thank the Rock Lake Personal Care home in Pilot Mound and the Tabor Home in Morden for providing excellent care to Bev over the past two years.
A private interment will take place at the Crandall Cemetery at a later date.
Those wishing to honour Bev's memory can donate to the Rock Lake Personal Care Home or the Tabor Home.
