DOROTHY MAE SINGBEIL

(DONALD)

Peacefully with family at her side, Mom slipped away.

Her spirit lives on in her son Jason (Barb); her daughter Jodie (Chris); and stepdaughter Penny; her beloved granddaughters, Sandy, Jordyn and Brooke; and her number one grandson Connor. Also, her brother Doug (Lorraine); great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was predeceased by her deeply loved husband Ozzie; parents, Ed and Margaret Donald; brothers, Bill (Jane), Glen (Joan); sisters, Frances, Pat (Bill) and Linda (Gordie).

Dorothy grew up in West Kildonan playing softball, taking baton and tap-dancing lessons. She was a Job’s Daughter and briefly lived in Scotland with her cousin Marjory.

After she returned, she worked at Robinson Alamo where Dad would tease her about her new “Scottish” accent when he made sales calls there. They married and settled in North Kildonan. Between there and Lee River, they raised their family and made many lifelong friends.

Dorothy worked in many different bookkeeping and accounting capacities at the PPCLI, Robinson Alamo, Multiglass Insulation, the Variety Club of Manitoba and later, multiple local law firms.

Mom worked very hard to provide a loving and inviting home to everybody she knew. She took great pride in hosting holiday gatherings, wedding and baby showers, birthday and anniversary parties and reunions. She even opened a Bed and Breakfast at the cabin and welcomed travellers from all over Canada, the USA and Europe.

Mom was an avid traveller and never met a trip she didn’t want to take. Luckily, she made friends everywhere she went and never had a shortage of friends or family to go with her. They were some of her happiest moments.

She enjoyed golfing and curling and was active in leagues at Harbourview, Black Bear and Pinawa GC and Lac Du Bonnet and Pinawa Curling Clubs.

Most of all, Mom adored her grandchildren. She would do anything for them and was immensely proud of each of them.

Dorothy’s family would like to specially thank the staff at Deer Lodge T3 North for their exceptional care over the past few years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society, CancerCare Manitoba or the MS Society of Manitoba.
