RONALD JOSEPH BUDOWSKI

March 14, 1961 - October 23, 2026

It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ron, with his family by his side, on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Sara (Matt) and Laura (Kurt); grandchildren, Tag, Ayla, Ben, Jaxon and Oaklee. He also leaves his mother Carol; brothers, Rick (Joan) and Rob (Debbie); mother-in-law Anne; sister-in-law Wendy (Paul); brother-in-law Randy (Zorianna) and nieces and nephews, Steven, Adam, Marisa, Kyle, Max and Mia. He was predeceased by his father Joe and father-in-law Edward Faseruk.

Ron was born and raised in Winnipeg. He grew up going to the Dudeck family farm with his cousins, who were bonus brothers and sisters to him. Ron graduated from Garden City Collegiate in 1979. It was there he developed lifelong friendships and met the love of his life, Sandra. They married in June of 1984 and grew their family to welcome Sara and Laura.

Ron enjoyed creating and building. He built their family home which they lived in for 23 years. Ron and Sandra spent all their free moments at the family cottage in Ingolf, Ontario. Here many more friendships flourished. He finished building a "bunkie" for his kids and grandkids so there would always be room for everyone together at the lake. Ron was a dedicated volunteer Firefighter for the Ingolf Fire Department. Even during his cancer treatment, he actively helped to fight the fire that devastated Ingolf last year.

Ron’s passion was teaching. He taught for 40 years, beginning in Boissevain, then transitioning to Winnipeg, spending the majority of his career with the Seven Oaks School Division. He ended his career at Red River College mentoring soon-to-be educators.

His infectious smile, laugh, friendship, mentorship, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing Ron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Anthony of Padua Parish with Rev. Dominic Yuen officiating.

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sharma and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital (Ward 6E) for their compassion and care during Ron’s stay. If friends desire, donations (flowers gratefully declined) in Ron’s name may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Ingolf Fire Department.
