ALLAN C. BARNEY BJARNASON 1923 - 2004 Peacefully, on Sunday, December 12, 2004, our beloved husband, dad, afi and best friend passed away at Boundary Trails Health Centre. Barney was born June 19, 1923, in Brandon, the youngest of 10 children. He was predeceased by his son Warren (1990); and leaves to mourn his wife Eleanor; daughter Cheryl and Wayne Warkentin of Morden; special grandchildren, Jenelle, Daniel and Amanda. He also leaves to mourn one brother Carl and wife Edna; two sisters, Margaret and husband Alvin and Runa; brother-in-law Doug and wife Jan; sister-in-law Jonina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barney was employed by Manitoba Hydro for 38 years prior to his retirement in 1982. He loved his golf, and served on the Minnewasta Golf Club committee. He was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 11. Barney was on the founding committee of the Morden Recreation Centre and was active in the community and took pride in his town. Barney was a special man who tried to live his life by the verse Desiderata and always thinking of others. He will be sorely missed by those he touched. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2:00 p.m., at St. Paul's United Church, 353 Thornhill St., Morden. A private family inurnment will take place prior to the service at Chapel Columbarium.
