Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY PARK (DWORNIK) It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Mary Park, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on August 3, 1999 at the St. Josephs Residence at the age of 80. Our mother was predeceased by her husband Richard on October 9, 1988; her parents, Apolonia and John Dwornik; her sister Katie Marchuck (Walter) her sister Lena Keryluk (Nick) her brothers, Frank and Martin Dwornik; brothers-in-law, Mike Gretchen, Cliff, Norman and Kenneth Park. Mom is survived by her son David (Nina) grandchildren, Shawn, Jeff and friend Dianne, Tania and friend Greg; son Ken (Kathy) grandchildren, Richard and friend Tracie, Karen (Joe) and great-granddaughter Kristin. Mom is also survived by her sister Tina Gretchen; sisters-in-law, Stella and Mary Dwornik; her brother-in-law Douglas (Mabel) Park; her sisters-in-law, Maisie, Jackie and Emily and Jean Park. There are also numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends who will miss her. Our mother was born May 18, 1919 in Meleb, Man. where she attended school. At age 17 she came to Winnipeg where she worked at several jobs, finally working at her brother Franks store, where she met Dad in 1938, they married in 1940, and were together for 48 years. While they were together raising their family, Mom worked in the restaurant and catering business. Mom and Dad were active in their church and were members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #117 General Sir Sam Steele. Mom was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Together they volunteered their time for many years with the joint hospital visiting Deer Lodge. The family would like to thank Dr. Terry Babick and the staff at St. Josephs Residence for the wonderful loving care they gave Mom over the past year. Funeral service will take place on Friday, August 6 at 1:30 p.m. from Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue with Msgr. Maurice Comeault officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Richard, Tommy Dwornik and Elmer Keryluk, and her grandsons, Shawn, Jeff and Richard Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2 or St. Josephs Residence Inc., 1149 Leila Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2P 1S6. Mom always had a smile for everyone. She was a gentle, kind and generous person who loved her family. No words could describe what she meant to each one of us.
