MERLE KLATT 1916 - 1999 Peacefully, in her sleep, our mother and best friend, left us on August 2, 1999. Mom was born in Brandon, Man. and moved to Winnipeg with her family while still an infant. She attended Victoria Albert School and later Hugh John MacDonald, where she met her husband to be Edward. Her love of singing was known to all, compassion for flowers and the time spent with family and friends at the cottage in Lac Lu, Ontario. She was a member of the fraternal Order of Eagles Arie #23, where she enjoyed bowling, dancing and the companionship of others. We will always remember her as a devoted mother who was always there when needed and will be sadly missed by daughter Sandy, husband Jerry; son Edward, wife Yvette and grandsons, Michael and Steven, as well as many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Bert and Ophelia (Connery) brother Jack; sister Irene and her husband Edward of 61 years. Pallbearers will be David Beddall, Frank Gamache, Alex Klatt, Charlie Olson, Tony Prosolowski and Brian Shrimpton. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 5 at 11:00 a.m. from Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road, with viewing one half hour prior to service. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the staff of the Golden Links Lodge for their tender loving care. All flowers may be sent to Green Acres for the service. Those wishing to do so may send donations in Merles memory to the Alzheimer Society of MB Inc., 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6.
