LENA HEPNER (BERARD) On July 31, 1999 at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, Lena passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 83 years. Lena was loved by all and will be sadly missed by her family, relatives and many dear friends. She is survived by her loving daughters, Marlene Zalewski (John) and Heather Borys; grandsons, Richard Haarala (Tina) and Dean Borys and great-grandson Nicolas Haarala; many nieces, nephews and her extended Hepner family. Lena also leaves to mourn her sister Teena McElroy (Ed) and sister Janet Fedorn. She was predeceased by her first husband Joseph Berard in 1982 and her second husband Corneilus Hepner in 1995; sister Pauline Taylor and brothers, Alex and John Zebrun. Mom was a special, wonderful, warm and caring person known for her Beautiful Smile and for her love of family and friends. She faced her cancer with great courage. Many thanks for the support shown to us by the staff at the Grace Hospital, and her wonderful doctors, Dr. B. Rumbolt, Dr. Galbraith and Dr. Mulder. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 6 at Sherwood Assembly of God, 384 Talbot Ave. with Rev. Andrew Porterfield officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery.
