CECILE FOREST-PICKUP Passed away August 19, 1999 in Spokane, Washington. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyne Pickup of Spokane; three brothers, J.H. (Rocky) Forest (Jean), Victoria, BC, Gabriel Forest (Marcelle), Petersfield, MB, Robert Forest (Cathy), Edmonton, AB and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Earl W. Pickup in 1994; her parents, Elise and Gabriel Forest; her sister Anna Dufault; and her brothers, Laurent, Gerard, Jean-Paul and Georges. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Eglise du Precieux Sang, 200 Kenny St., St. Boniface. Friends and relatives who wish to make a memorial contribution may do so to the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, 400 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.

Cecile Forest and I met one day when I was working at my job and had gone to the shipping door of my employer. Cecile was on her way to work at the building that was located beside the building where I worked, Almost every working day, I would say hello to her as she walked past on her way to work. One day she stopped and asked me to go to a party that the family was having for some occasion. I agreed to go. We started dating for several months. She began hinting about marriage and looking in Eatons and the Bay windows at wedding dresses etc. As I was five years younger, I was not interested in getting married.. Even though I knew that breaking off our relationship would be cruel, but I decided that by continuing on was wasting her time in finding a man her age to marry. I just became aware of her passing while checking the obits in the computer. Ii see that she did marry an American man and they had a child. I was pleased that she did find a man to marry and had a child born to her. Cecille was a good person and will be enjoying her eternal life in Heaven.
