Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALVIN WARKENTIN KORNELSEN It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly loved Husband, Father and Grandfather, Alvin Kornelsen on Monday, September 6, 1999 at the age of 69. Alvin was predeceased by his parents, George and Annie Kornelsen; his brother Bill and his grandson Aaron Michael Harder. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Adina; his three children and their families; son Lloyd, wife Karen; grandsons, Joseph and Jonathan; daughter Jeannette (Harder), husband David; grandchildren, Jason, Amy and Sarah, and son Dale; wife Ellen; granddaughter Chloe. He is also survived by four brothers and five sisters. Alvin was born in Kleefeld, Manitoba on June 3, 1930 and grew up in Giroux, Manitoba. Alvin spent most of his life in education, as teacher and school principal. Alvins passion for child-centered teaching later led him to a career in counselling. At the time of his death he was employed as a counsellor at Recovery of Hope. Alvin has left a legacy of gentle acceptance of all, and an exuberant passion for living life. The family wishes to thank the nurses of the St. Boniface Hospital and Dr. Paul Daeninck for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10 at Fort Garry E.M.C., 602 Pasadena Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment to follow in St. Vital Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on September 9 at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., and at the church prior to the service.
