HELEN DUECK nee (NEUDORF) It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Helen Dueck, age 69, on Friday, September 3, 1999 at the Health Sciences Centre Helen was predeceased by son Jerry at the age of five in 1960; parents, Rev. D. J. and Sarah Neudorf and in-laws, Cornie and Tina Dueck. Helen leaves many cherished memories with husband Henry, family and grandchildren, Ken (Cathy Wach), Ian; Jeff (Mary), Jason, Tamara, Nicholas; Jennifer (Robert) Gobeil, Cassandra, Sabrina and Curtis. Families share such precious memories that only sisters and a brother can share, Sarah (John) Rempel, Marie Phillips, Dick (Kathy) Neudorf, Margaret (Dave) Penner and Ann (Ernie) Andrusiak; in-laws, Tina (Ben) Toews, Margaret Bergen (fiance-Ernie), Martin (Ann) Dueck, Gertrude Dueck and Mary (George) Schapansky. Helen will also be sadly missed and always remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. GOD SAW YOU GETTING TIRED God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, He closed his arms around you, and whispered, Come to Me. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, Our hearts were almost broken, You fought so hard to stay. What you suffered, you told us few, You didnt deserve what you went through. Tired and weary, you made no fuss, But tried to stay so hard with us. But when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer all that again. So treasure her Lord, in your garden of rest For here on earth, she was the very best. God Bless You, Amen. Helen was born March 8, 1930 and raised on the farm in the Langevin School District near Altona. She and Henry met in 1945 and married November 21, 1948 in the Altona Bergthaler Church. They moved to Winnipeg shortly after their marriage where they lived and raised their family until her passing. Helens pride and pursuit for perfection were shown in all her lifes activities be it cooking, crocheting, quilting, sewing, knitting, or ceramics, including raising her family. In her leisure time she enjoyed bowling, gardening and visiting with family and friends. Her strength of character and determination allowed her to carry on even through her illness. The family would like to extend special thank yous to Dr. Houston, the medical team and the staff of H4 at the Health Sciences Centre for the endless care, support, kindness and comfort they provided to Mom and the family. Mom always said: Bring me the flowers while I can see them.
