JEAN HOWELKO On Friday, September 3, 1999 at the Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon, Jean Howelko, aged 71 years, beloved wife of Edward Howelko of Matlock, MB. Born August 14, 1928, in Saskatchewan, Jean had lived at Matlock for the past 47 years. Mom enjoyed being with her family and visiting with her friends. She had a great love for gardening and grew a huge garden. Mom had a market garden business for many years. She developed many friendships with the cottagers, who came back year after year. Moms passion in life was the love of life its self. Surviving besides her husband Edward; two daughters and two sons, Joan of Burnaby, Doreen (Ed) Alleyn of Gimli, Brian (Debbie) of Rosser, Alan (Colleen) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Tom, David and Mary Alleyn, Tyler, Brittany and Christopher Howelko; her mother, Mary Yanishewski of Gimli; two brothers and two sisters, Frank Yanishewski, Verna (Roy) McLean, Eileen (John) Morley and Norman (Beverley) Janis, sister-in-law, Rose Scotch, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, her brother Bill Scotch and sister-in-law Pauline Yanishewski. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the Mackenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Rev. J. Stennett will officiate with interment to follow in the St. Williams Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St. Winnipeg. Mackenzie Funeral Home in Teulon, in care of arrangements.
