ANNE VICTORIA MIHALYK It is with great sadness that the family of Anne Mihalyk announce her passing. Anne left this world and entered Gods Realm on the afternoon of September 3, 1999. She was prepared to be with God and to be once again united with her husband Harry and their first-born Helen Anna, who died in infancy. Her life began on June 14, 1915, in the Village of Pine Ridge. She was the eldest daughter of William and Anna Mlynarovich. Having suffered the loss of her mother at a young age, she undertook the responsibility of raising her younger siblings. Anne met Harry through a friend of the family. They were married on November 24, 1934 in the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on Boyd Avenue in Winnipeg. Harry and Anne began their married life in Annes family home in Pine Ridge. In 1942 they moved to Lorne Hill Road where they built a new home. It was there that they raised their family: Stephanie Barnett (Sydney), Raymond (Sharon), Beverley Pelechosky (Allan) and Douglas (Deborah). Mom became a Granny in 1960 and a Great-Granny in 1984. She found great pleasure in grandmothering her ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Scattered from Burlington to Edmonton, they were all very near and dear to her. They will always remember her inviting kitchen, the perogies, pink applesauce and the cookies. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by Linda Barnett (Ken), Alexis; Jackie Coley (Ian), Scott and Lindsay; Greg Mihalyk (Debra), Gregg; Diane Joan Barnett (Don) Taryn Davis (Sandy), Michael and Alexandra; Barbara Barnett-Fontaine (Billy) Lesley Ward; June Pelechosky; Ron Mihalyk; and Rick Mihalyk. Anne was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, John, Joseph and Casmir. She is survived by siblings, Jean Bodner, Olga Stasynec, Nick Mlynarovich; and her numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was always a lover of gardening and animals. She is greatly missed by Kelsey, her devoted Cocker Spaniel. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Henry Falconer, Chaplain Simone Comeault and the staff of St. Boniface Hospital, whose compassionate and tender care helped to make Moms last days more comfortable. Honorary pallbearers, Nick Chercoe, William Fosty, Al Reid, and Ria van der Zande. The active pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Viewing will be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1200 Day St., Winnipeg, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, corner of Donald Street and Graham Avenue, Winnipeg, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8. Interment to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Birds Hill Park. The services will be officiated by Rev. Robin Mathers. VICHNAYA PAMYAT
