DAVID RODERICK HILTON RUE 1920 - 1999 Second World War-RCAF-Burma Squadron Leader-DFC Peacefully on Friday, September 3, 1999. Rod was born in Winnipeg, Man., son of the late Thomas (World War One) and Ethel (Childerstone) Rue. Predeceased by Marguerite Romain, his first love and mother of his two older sons, Michael (Penny) and Sandy (Helene) of Ottawa. Soulmate and friend of Marlene (Kennedy), the mother of his two younger sons, David (Anjali) and Craig, Ottawa. Poppa to Shannon, Ryan and newborn Ishana. Brother of Ken and Barbara Rue of Winnipeg and Margaret Walsh of Ottawa. Special thanks to Shari and her staff who went beyond the call of duty to make Rod comfortable during his short stay at the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre, Gatineau 1, South. Appreciation also to Fr. Gagne for his kindness and prayers. A private family service will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.
