Date of Passing: Sep 07, 1999
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN PATRICK It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John Patrick on Tuesday, September 7, 1999, with his family at his side. John was predeceased by his parents, Steven and Anna, his brother Peter and his sister Jessie. John will be lovingly remembered by Frances, his wife of 44 years; daughters, Carol (Ed) and Angela; son Steven and his wife Leigh-Ann; grandchildren, Cameron, Bryce and Ian; sisters, Nellie and Jean and numerous nieces and nephews. John was born in Springfield Municipality on June 28, 1925. He received his education at Corona School and spent his early years as a caddie at Pine Ridge Golf Course. In 1945, John began working at North American Lumber. He started as a yardman, later became a truck driver and finished his career in 1990 as a shipper/receiver. Throughout his life, John took great pride in his ability to do hard work. In his earlier years, John enjoyed hunting and golfing. He also kept a hobby farm in Springfield where he and Frances maintained a garden into their retirement. John also took pleasure in reminiscing about the "good old days" and would recall many fond memories of family and friends. The family would like to thank all of the staff of Unit 3 fifth floor and Pastoral Care at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Your professionalism and compassion helped us through a very difficult time. A Memorial Service will take place at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Ave. on Friday, September 10 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Terance P. McGrath officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Manitoba Division, 102-310 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6 or the Seven Oaks General Hospital, 2300 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, R2V 3M3. Rest in Peace. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
