FREDA SIGURDSON On Monday, September 6, 1999 at Oakview Place, Freda Sigurdson, aged 104 years of Winnipeg. Freda Sigurdson was born in Pembina County, North Dakota July 14, 1895 to Jon and Gudbjorg Samson. They later moved to Winnipeg. Freda received her education in Winnipeg. She than taught school for a number of years in Lundar where she met her husband John. They lived in Winnipeg, Oak Point and Eriksdale. Freda was a avid sport fan and a participate in early years. Her later years were spent at 170 Hendon where she lived many happy years. Crocheting table cloths and afghans took up much of her time. Freda was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Stan, Walter and Joe and two sisters, Bertha and Betty. Another sister Aurora (Toots) Bryans resides in Winnipeg. Freda was predeceased her husband John in 1952. She is survived by two sons, Thor (Bette, deceased) and John (Shirley) two daughters, Alfa (Sig) (Alex, deceased) Stewart and Carol (Terry) Porteous. She is survived by 16 grandchildren and number of great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 10 at 2:00 p.m. in MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. John Stewart will officiate. The service will conclude at the Chapel. Interment will take place later at the Eriksdale Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations o many be made to a charity of ones choice.
