FLORENCE SMIGEL Peacefully, after a lengthy illness on September 7, 1999 our dear Florence passed from this life. She leaves to mourn Walter, her husband of 50 years, daughter Beverley and her husband Rick, and grandchildren, Jennifer and Zachary. She was predeceased by her brother Richard and her parents, Gustav and Mathilda Betke. Florence retired from Centra Gas in 1999 after 40 years of dedicated service. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. Florence had a great zest for life and shared it with Walter in their garden, hobbies and in their travels. Always a good friend, she will be missed by all those she touched over the years. The family is grateful for the care and kindness shown to Florence during her stay at the St. Boniface Hospital. In particular, the family is grateful to the Rev. Canon, Dr. Arthur N. Thompson for their friendship and counsel. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Philip Anglican Church, Tache Avenue and Eugenie Street.
