JOSEPH ZWIERZCHOWSKI On September 3, 1999, Mr. Joseph Zwierzchowski passed away at his residence. Joseph came from Poland, where he was born in Grabina powiat of Plock on September 12, 1902, and landed in Quebec on June 23, 1928. He first went to Gerald, SK and later came to Winnipeg in 1935 and opened a barber shop in the Dufferin Hotel. He resided in Winnipeg all the time operating a barber shop in various places and addresses. Josephs most recent employment was at his barber shop at Selkirk and Salter in Winnipeg. Joseph was a member of the Holy Ghost Parish Church for most of his life while residing in Winnipeg. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Foresters - Court No. 763, a member of the Manitoba Masters Barber Association and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, Mynarski V.C., and the S.P.K. Polish Combatants Association, Branch No. 13. He leaves to mourn his passing two nephews in Oshawa, ON and one nephew in Saginaw, Mich., U.S.A. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
