JOHNATHON L. FULOP June 20, 1945 - September 7, 1999 After a brief illness, Our Lord called to John, on the evening of September 7, 1999. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife and best friend, Ilona, and the two bright stars of his life; his sons, Johnathon and Stephan, filled with unfathomable sadness. Held in the loving arms of his wife and sons, he passed away and is now resting in his place close to Jesus loving heart. John was predeceased by his mother and father, but leaves to mourn him, his sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Alec Szabolcsi, and their four sons. With his parents, John left Hungary in 1956 and immigrated to Canada. They first settled in Brandon, and after a number of years, stayed shortly in Vancouver before settling in Winnipeg. John worked diligently with his parents in numerous ventures, primarily in the restaurant business in the early years. John was an information gatherer, and a true entrepreneur with many varied businesses and interests in his later years. He was extremely proud of His Global Group of Companies (begun in 1973), and rightly so. John valued family and friends above all else in the world, and magnanimously allowed his parents to retire when they were in their early fifties, taking care of them until their deaths. Those who called John friend knew that he did not let time or distance affect those friendships; he was only a telephone call away. Johns family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who took care of John during his brief illness. He received only truly exemplary professional care and we received tremendous warmth and compassion from all those who cared for him. May your attention and thoughtfulness to our family bring Gods blessings upon each and everyone of you. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, September 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the Saint John Brebeuf Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place. Father Michael Koryluk presiding. The service will terminate at the church and a reception will follow. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
