Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE (HRYNCHUK) BROWN Ma, Grandma and LaLa With resignation and anticipation, our beloved LaLa peacefully began her journey at 4:20 a.m. in the morning of September 9, 1999 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. LaLa was born Rosila Ruth Hrynchuk on May 5, 1918 in Roblin, Man. and was known as Rosie to her family and friends. She had five siblings, Mickey (deceased), Annie (deceased), Billy (deceased), Mary Scaife of Toronto and youngest brother Stevie Hrynchuk of Victoria, B.C. and her deceased parents, John and Edna Hrynchuk. She attended both Argyle and Norquay Schools. On June 15, 1935 she married Herbert Stanley Brown. Together they had four children, Dennis James, Herbert Stanley, and the twins, Edna Ruth and David Arron (deceased). During the 40s and 50s Rose was fully involved with the familys businesses, Browns Construction, Browns Hardware and Sprucelane Kennels. She spent many happy weekends with her husband at the dog trials and at their cottage out at the big Whiteshell. Rose and her husband were instrumental in founding Manitobas first foster home for mentally challenged adults. She never turned a person away from her table no matter their circumstances plus she was known far and wide for being an excellent cook. During her retirement years she was kept in loving care and company of her devoted daughter Edna and her son-in-law Theodore. She will be sorrowfully missed by her niece Debbie and her daughter Barbie. She was blessed with many grandchildren. A flock of great-grandchildren and a dash of great great-grandchildren. . The funeral will be held at Knysh Funeral Home, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg on Sunday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Manitoba Wildlife Rehabilitation Organization Centre, St. Adolphe, MB, (204) 883-2122.
