THORGERDUR MARGERDUR (DELLA) HOLM Thorgerdur Margerdur (Della) Holm of Betelstadur, formerly of Husavick and Gimli, passed away at Deer Lodge Centre on September 3, 1999 after a brief illness. Della was born February 28, 1914 to Thorkell and Fridrika Johnson at Grund in the Minerva district. Della was educated in Minerva and worked on the farm till her marriage to Arnor Holm of Husavick on September 4, 1937. Together they operated the farm in partnership with Julli and Laura Holm, retiring to Gimli in 1988. Della moved to Betestadur in 1994. Della was an active member of the Husavick Ladies Aid for many years helping with numerous community activities. Amma was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who took great enjoyment in her family. She was predeceased by her husband Arnor in October, 1991 and an infant daughter Adele Margaret in 1945. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Stjana Einarson and Soffia Campbell, two brothers, Bill Johnson and Charlie Johnson. She is survived by daughter Edith (Grant) Harrison of Carman, son Rick (Merianne) Holm of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Adele (Rene) Franczak of Red Lake, ON, Glen (Jo-anne) Harrison of Winnipeg, and Erik Holm of Vancouver; great-grandchildren, Deanna and Jeremy Franczyk, Matthew and Brett Harrison; sister-in-law Doris Holm and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. At Dellas request there will be no service. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Betel Foundation or a charity of their choice.
