GERALD WARREN (BUNTY) PEERS Suddenly but peacefully on September 12, 1999 at the Selkirk & District General Hospital, Bunty Peers, aged 83 years, a lifelong resident of Selkirk, beloved husband of Anne, passed away with his family at his side. Besides his loving wife of 60 years, Anne, he leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Geraldine (Fred) Trapp, son Bob (Joyce) grandchildren, Karie (Jeff) Olmstead, Jeffery, Darren and Diane; great-grandchildren, Andrea and Megan; nieces, nephews and friends. Bunty will be fondly remembered by his loving family who treasured his gift of caring and generosity. Bunty was born in Selkirk on September 5, 1916. He spent the majority of his working career at the Manitoba Rolling Mill prior to he and Annes move to their dream place along the river north of Selkirk. An active sports enthusiast, he will be remembered as an outstanding baseball player and duck hunter. He was predeceased by his parents, Augustus and Carrie and two sisters, Mildred and Lorna, and is survived by a sister Doreen in Ottawa. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Christ Anglican Church, Selkirk with Rev. Glenda Drew officiating. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their thoughtfulness and caring. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Buntys name can be made to a charity of ones choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
