JOHN (JACK) MALCOLM LEWIS With great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Jack Lewis at the Grace Hospital on Sunday, September 12, 1999. To cherish his memory he leaves his beloved wife Bernice; daughter Darlene; sons, Jim (Gail) and Calvin; four grandchildren, Sorrel, Wyatt, Ashleen and Caitlin. He was predeceased by his father Willis in 1946; his seven year old brother Jimmy in 1951 and brother-in-law Hubert. He is survived by five sisters, Effie (Carl), Marion (Jack), Dorothy, Say (David), Wendy (Gary) also many nieces and nephews and friends. Jack was born at Roland, MB in 1933. He worked as a transport driver and later at Coldstream Industries. He kept the lunchroom decorated in the different seasons for enjoyment with his fellow workers. During his life he struggled with many heart problems, being through four heart attacks, a quadruple bypass and then in 1996 a heart transplant in London, ON. He had enjoyed almost 3 and one half years of good health. While in London, he made many close friends and worked in the garden on the transplant wing again beautifying for other patients. He enjoyed his times in the country at Headingley, walking his dog Pillsbury, his faithful friend. They were never too far apart. We would like to thank the nursing staff in the ICU and Emergency at the Grace Hospital for their love and concern. Also a special thanks to Dr. Homik. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15 at the Charleswood Gospel Chapel located on the Perimeter Highway, South of Roblin Boulevard. Viewing will be one hour prior to service. Burial will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jacks memory to the London Health Sciences Centre - Multi Organ Transplant Unit, P.O. Box 5339, London, ON, N6A 5A5.
