Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL VARACKA (WARACHKA) Peacefully, on Sunday, September 12, 1999, Michael Varacka, aged 89 years, passed away at Health Sciences Centre. Born in Ratnovce, Slovakia in 1910, he married Magdalena Volovic on May 10, 1934. They immigrated to Canada in 1938 and settled in the Malonton district. Here they farmed and raised their family. He was predeceased by Magdalena in 1984 and grandson Donald Bilan in 1987. He is survived by daughter Mary Bilan; grandchildren, George and Sharon; daughter Ann Zamrykut (Fred) grandchildren, Edward (Doris), Bryon, Colleen, Karen of Abbotsford, BC; son Michael (Sylvia) grandchildren, Mitchell and Megan; son Joseph; daughter Fran Mudry (Joe) grandchildren, Erin and Jonathon; and son Rudy. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren and relatives in Canada and the Slovak Republic. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, September 15 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Michael will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by friends and family. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
