OLIVE AMELIA DAVIDSON After suffering without complaint from Alzheimers for 10 years, our beloved Olive passed away at Kildonan Personal Care Centre on September 12, 1999. She leaves a deep void in the lives of her loving husband Ken; their two sons, Robert and Roy and their families, and many friends. Olive had the unique gift of making everyone she touched feel especially loved. It was her way of practising the Christian principles of love and service to all. Olive joined the First Baptist Church in Brandon at an early age. She was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the choir for many years. Upon moving with Ken to East Kildonan in 1947, she joined the John Black Memorial United Church. In addition to many years of choir work, Olive was tireless in the work of the Womens Association. She was the convenor of two groups for many years, and was elected President of the United Church Women at John Black in 1965 and 1966. She was awarded a life membership in the Womens Association of the United Church of Canada in 1970. In sports, she was a major star of the Brandon Collegiate Ladies Basketball Team. She served as President of the East Kildonan Community Club Auxiliary for two years. As a curler, Olive was elected President of the Couples Curling Group of the Elmwood Curling Club. Olive graduated from Brandon Collegiate and Brandon Musical Faculty, and became an accomplished pianist. Olive was born on October 4, 1909 in Calumet, Quebec, the youngest of six children of Mr. and Mrs. J.G. MacKenzie who moved west and settled in Brandon in 1912. She has been predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings.
