BENEDICT NIECKARZ Peacefully on Friday, September 10, 1999 at Donwood Manor, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ben Nieckarz passed away. Ben was born June 16, 1915 in Winnipeg. He married Jean (nee Jablonski) on June 22, 1940. They farmed near Hazelridge from 1940 to 1989. Ben also worked at the C.P.R. from 1955 to 1978. Besides his wife Jean of 59 years, he leaves to mourn his passing, daughter Joy of Rockland, Ont. and her children, Allison (Derek MacDonald and daughter Kelly) and Mary; son Edward and wife Jean of Surrey, B.C. and their children, Paula (Trevor Scrace and daughter Tia) and Daniel; son Thaddeus and Teresa Hitch and their children, Cali, Cortny and Ryan; son Joseph and Judie Hill; daughter Frances and husband Lawrie Goalen and their children, Amy, Christie and Laura; daughter Mary and her husband Ian McNair of Calgary and their children, Amber and Colin; son Victor and his wife Cheryl and their children, Jessica, Richard and John; daughter Angela; and daughter Teresa and her husband Peter Stobbe of Edmonton and their children, Patricia and Kevin. He was predeceased by his daughters, Rose in 1956 and Patricia in 1964, and his brothers and sisters. Bens dream in life was for his children to realize happiness and success. Besides family, his other love was music. Prayers will be held on Monday, September 13 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Church, Cooks Creek, Manitoba with Fr. Sebastian Gacki officiating. Interment will follow in parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bens memory to a charity of choice.
