BERTHA McKAY (nee CARRIERE) Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Bertha passed away at the age of 89 years. She was a resident of St. Eustache, Manitoba all her life. She leaves to mourn her passing, four sons, Bobby (Carol), Nelson, Clifford (Docile) and Raymond (Doreen) two daughters, Betty (Olivier) and Joanne (Albert) and daughter-in-law, Myrna. She also leaves 21 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one sister Marie of B.C. Also many nieces, nephews, godchildren and many special friends. She was predeceased by her husband Donald; three sons, Ronald, Howard and Herbert, daughter Kay; granddaughter Joy; her parents William and Marie Rose Carriere, and by two brothers and four sisters. Mom was a very generous and kind hearted person. She was well known for helping anyone in need. She was always there for her family. She spent a lot of time caring for children. She was a person with a big heart. "Granny" will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. With respect for Berthas wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 14, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Albert Lafreniere presiding. Rite of Committal to follow in the Parish Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of the Portage General Hospital, The Lions Manor of Portage La Prairie, The Grace General Hospital of Winnipeg and the Home Care Personnel for the great care and comfort they gave her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Eustache Parish or to the Cartier Senior Citizens Club. Adams Funeral Service of Elie, Manitoba in care of arrangements. 1-888-400-2326. You were always there when we needed you, No task was too great or small, With a loving heart and a willing hand, For us you did it all. Thanks for the years you gave us and for the times we shared. We only pray that when you left us You knew how much we cared. God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come with Me."
