WILLIAM TURNEY Friday, September 10, 1999 "Pops" took a last flight of fantasy. After studying clouds for 86 years, he saw one that he liked, and caught it. He loved his work, and did not retire from the Rocket Department at Bristol Aerospace until he was 78. William loved horse racing and bowing and listening to boogie woogie. He was inventive, walking the thin line between genius and eccentricity. Once he set his mind to it, there was nothing he could not master. Looking at problems in ways most of us couldnt, Pops found solutions that eluded the brightest minds. He loved his children, Lisa in Toronto; Ralph in Victoria and Paul in Niagara Falls. He loved his grandchildren, Keri-Lynn in Kelowna, Trisha in Niagara Falls and Katie in Toronto and his great grandson Eric. William loved life, and did not go gently. Predeceased by brothers Bob and Kelly, he left behind brothers Sam and Harry and sister Trudy. There will be no formal funeral service. William has been cremated, private services will be held in all our hearts. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue 949-4872
