Rae was born in Port Hope, Ontario August 10, 1919. She lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, ??? and Lillian Frampton, step-sister Vivian and brother Edgar, and her beloved husband Ken. She leaves to mourn her sons, James and David; daughters-in-law, Dianne Baker and Joanne Hatherly; grandchidlren, Jason, Mark, Sarah, Naomi and Rebekah; sisters, Frances and Mildred; nieces, Patricia (Ron) Ryland, Heather (Dennis) Colter and Carol (Dale Wilson) Frampton; sister-in-law Marion Hatherly; nephew Michael (Suzanne) Stanley, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews and many longtime cherished friends. Rae shared her love and loyalty equally with family, friends and her God. Her faith was spoken without judgement and shared easily, and often. It was the base out of which she developed her respect for others, her innate sense of justice and her compassion for all. She and Ken raised their children with honesty and wisdom, and opened their doors with hospitality and grace. Rae offered much of her life to the church, in particular in the last 40 years to Deer Lodge United Church, and for many years to Winnipeg Presbytery. She was always learning, taking University courses while into her 70s, and enjoying field trips, and travel to other countries. Her friends will remember a woman eager to celebrate the important events in other peoples lives, and a good game of bridge. She was, in her early married years, a Registered Nurse, and before that an office secretary, skills which she continued to use all throughout her life. A service to celebrate Raes life will be held on Saturday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave. Revs. Peter and Mona Denton to officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raes memory to the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada.
