REV. DEACON JOHN ZYLA Suddenly on Wednesday, September 15, 1999 Rev. Deacon John Zyla beloved husband of Tillie Zyla was called home to Heaven. Rev. Deacon John is survived by his sons, Alexander and Michael. He leaves to mourn Marie (Cal), Joseph (Jennifer), Mervin (Gladys) and Edward (Debbie). On September 6, 1987 Rev. Deacon John was ordained to the Diaconate at St. Basils parish where he served the parishioners in many ways, such as pastoral care at the Grace Hospital for the past 12 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree St. Josaphats Council and 4th Degree Canon Luhovy Assembly. Parastas will be sung on Sunday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Basils Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church, His Grace Most Reverend Michael Bzdel C.Ss.R.D.D. officiating, assisted by the clergy of the Archeparchy of Winnipeg. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Donations may be made in Deacon Johns memory to the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Seminary in Ottawa, 1030 Baseline Rd., Ottawa, ON K2C 0A6.
