JERRY RUSSELL CHUDZY January 25, 1930 - September 15, 1999 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Poppa, Jerry on Wednesday, September 15, 1999 at St. Boniface Hospital. He left this world peacefully, with dignity and grace, surrounded by his treasured family. Jerry was born and raised in Winnipegs North End. At the age of 16, he commenced employment with C.P.R. where he remained happily for 40 years before retiring in 1986 as an engineer. His love for the railroad remained with him always. Upon retirement he became a member of Rossmere Country Club and enjoyed the game of golf where he kept active with his many friends. Jerry enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends by his side. Left to mourn is his beloved wife and best friend of 49 years, Ollie; his sons, Don (Peggy) of Calgary and Chris (Marilyn) of Oakbank; his four precious grandchildren, Kelly and Chris Jr., Maggie and Holly. He is also survived by his mother Julie; sister Mary Letwin and many caring and loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan in 1973 and his father Alexander in 1970. We sincerely thank the staff, &Angels of Mercy&, of St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care of our special friend (The Big Guy). We also thank Dr. P.Daeninck, Dr. Garcia, Tim, Stan, Patti and Gert, our support staff, Vi, Eddie and Lori, Sandy and Olga, Mary, Teresa and Mark, Al and Elaine Tresoor, our most caring neighbours Ed and Regina Ponto and his grieving buddies who visited constantly. Memorial service celebrating Jerrys life will be held at Cropo Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Monday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Vladimir Bozyk officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment Foundation, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 9Z9 or St. Boniface Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
