WILLI PENNER Surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 15, 1999, Willi Penner, devoted husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away at the Grace Hospital after a brief illness. He will be sadly missed by his wife Herta; mother Berta; sister Heidi and his four children, Erica, Hilda, Willy, Harry and their families. Willi was born in Russia and came to Canada in 1958 with his wife and family. He had many obstacles to overcome, spending many years studying to provide a better life for his wife and family. Once he set his mind to something, there was nothing he could not master. Willi held a number of different jobs during his lifetime, his last being with Lions Place, retiring after 16 years of service. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he continued to work throughout the Lions Club Organization. His way of relaxation was with his hobbies which included fishing, working on cars or looking for that next job to tackle. Willi possessed an untiring and total devotion to his family, friends and anyone who knew him; anyone in need could depend on him. He truly will be missed by all. Our sincere thanks to Pastor Edwin Epp and Minister Ben Sawatsky for their caring and giving us the strength in our time of need. Funeral services will be held at The Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield St. at Sargent Avenue on Monday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a lunch before proceeding to the graveside service at the Glen Eden Memorial Gardens at 4477 Main Street. Viewing at the church prior to the service. Donations may be made in memory of Willi Penner to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Do not let your hearts be troubled; trust in God, trust also in me. In my Fathers house are many rooms; If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you with me that you may also be where I am. John 14 Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
