Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK MITCHELL Peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 1999, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Jack Mitchell passed away at the age of 81 years. Jack was born on October 18, 1917 in Keighley, Yorkshire, England. Dad served as member of the British Army during the Second World War in the Royal Artillery-Guards Armoured Division. Immigrating to Canada in 1954, Dad enjoyed a lengthy career with the Provincial Government, retiring in October, 1982. Dad was active with the Royal Canadian Legion, serving a term as President of West Kildonan Branch No. 30. He enjoyed his time at the branch with the gang, entertaining and performing in their many shows. Left to mourn are his wife of 53 years, Winsome; son Blair (Sandra) daughter Lyn (Gerry) grandchildren, Chris, Donna (Lynko), Kent (Angela), Michael, Christopher and Byron. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 21 at 2:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. The family would like to thank Dr. MacMillan and the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kind, compassionate care.
