PELAGIA PASTUSHENKO With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Pelagia Pastushenko, on September 17, 1999 peacefully at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg. Pelagia is loving remembered by her four daughters, Mary Peters and Anne (Dave) Semenko of McMunn, MB, Nell (John) Bjornson and Victoria Pastushenko of Winnipeg; seven grandchildren, Tamara (Ted) Semenko-Farion, Rena Semenko, Barbara-Jean Robinson, Wilma (Don) Latimer, Brian (Linda) Bjornson, Cameron (Marilyn) Bjornson, Lori (Chris) Savage and 10 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Lyle and Laura Bjornson, Eric and Lisa Bjornson, Trevor and Vanessa Robinson, Jennifer Latimer, Sacha Farion and Ethan Stiglich; also surviving her are two brothers, Mike and Pete (Mabel) Senchuk and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Jaskow Barteluk and mother Pauline Barteluk (Senchuk) Pelagias husband Nicholas predeceased her on September 9, 1968 and her son George on July 25, 1999. She was also predeceased by one sister in the Ukraine and three brothers, John Fadun of Winnipeg and Harry Senchuk and Bill Fadun of McMunn. Pelagia was born in the Ukraine in May 1903 and came to Canada with her widowed mother at age 4. She spent her early life at East Selkirk and McMunn, MB. Then later as a young bride moved to Waugh, MB then to McMunn, MB. Pelagia loved crafts especially the making of artificial flowers and braided rugs, which adorn her home, she also loved gardening. She was a generous person. A funeral service will take place at the Holy Ascension Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hadashville, MB on Wednesday, September 22 at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Walter Knysh. Interment to follow at St. Marys Riverside Cemetery in Prawda. If friends wish, donations in her memory may be made to the Holy Ascension Ukrainian Church, Hadashville, MB R0E 0X0. IM FREE Dont grieve for me, for now Im free. Im following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My lifes been full, Ive savoured much, Good friends, good times a loved ones touch.
