JANET McKINNON Janet McKinnon, age 80, beloved wife of Howard Alexander McKinnon, passed away on Friday, September 24, 1999 at Victoria General Hospital. Janet was born February 14, 1919 in Rosyth, Scotland to John and Joan Forsyth. The family came to Canada in 1919 and eventually settled in Winnipeg. Janet married Howard McKinnon on May 3, 1941 in Winnipeg, where they continued to live and raise their family. Janet is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Howard; daughter Pamela and son-in-law Glen Pollard; daughter Shirlee McKinnon; son Neil; grandson Christopher Pollard; granddaughter Shelagh Pollard and her nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents John and Joan and brother Jim Forsyth. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family in a memorial service at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Wednesday, September 29 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the nursing and medical staff on the 4th floor and ICU unit at the Victoria General Hospital.
