GEORGE ROY HARRISON On September 20, 1999 George Roy Harrison, 79 years of age, passed away peacefully, at home. George was predeceased by his wife Mae, in 1992, and son Frank, in 1979. George will be deeply missed by his loving son Bob, daughter-in-law Judy, relatives and many friends. George was a corporal with the Winnipeg Grenadiers, and after four years of internment in Hong Kong, he returned home to begin his family, followed by a proud service as an exuberant elevator operator in the Canada Post Office building. Since retiring in 1983, he was an active member of the Sir Arthur Pearson Association of War Blinded, and was president for the past several years. He was also a long standing member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans, Unit No. 60. George will be fondly remembered for his camaraderie and goodwill that he bestowed on those he knew and those he met along the way. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 24 at 1:00 p.m., with viewing from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m., in the Chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.
