JAMES WILMOT PORTREE Peacefully on September 19, 1999 at the Red River Place in Selkirk, MB, Dad passed away at the age of 85 years. Gentleman Jim was born in Winnipeg, MB on February 19, 1914. He was employed for over 35 years at CN Rail and after retiring he was employed at Balmoral Hall School for several years. Dad was predeceased by his infant son James William; his parents, William and Mary Portree; his brother Donald Portree; and his sister Mamie Cornish. Dad will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Jim (Carol) Portree; daughters, Kathy (Bob) Barber and Brenda (Greg Shettler) Portree; grandchildren, Jodie, Jared, Jennifer (Stuart), Kyle (Jennifer), Tamara (Glen) and Theresa; great-granddaughters, Jessica and Madison; and his niece Donna, The Portree of Skye. Dad and Donna spent many enjoyable years researching our Family Tree. Dad enjoyed travelling to different parts of the world and when at home, he took great pleasure in grooming his lawn and flower gardens. Dad also enjoyed the fishing trips with his son and grandson. With respect to Dads wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care and kindness given to Dad by Dr. Demsas and the doctors and staff at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, the Betel Home Foundation, Red River Place, and Evelyn of the Alzheimer Society.
