Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE VERA BRYDON (nee HYDE) Alice Vera Brydon, beloved wife of William R. Brydon passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 21, 1999 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 90 years. Besides her husband, Alice is survived by her daughters, Donna Calverley (Douglas) of Ottawa and Judith Whittaker (Brian) of Vancouver; grandson, Darren Calverley of Vancouver; granddaughters, Debra Gassewitz (Mike) of Ottawa, Melanie Barnett (Philip) of Bermuda, and Corinne Chakrabarti (Robin) of Vancouver; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kurtis; sister Rose Parrott of Portage la Prairie; brother Murray Hyde of Calgary; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Clarence, Jack, Fred, and Lloyd; and sisters, Ivy, Berva, Myrtle and Frances. Alice was born in Burnside, Man. on March 2, 1909. She was married in 1936 and moved to Kenora, Ont. Alice and Bill returned to Winnipeg in 1944 where she became a dedicated member of Crescent Fort Rouge United Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for the Provincial Government, retiring in 1974. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Alice, to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, Geriatric Research Centre of Excellence. Please phone 478-6271 for more information. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 25 in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with the Rev. Pat Wotton officiating.
