LYDIA KEHLER (nee GESKE) It is with great sadness that peacefully on September 16, 1999 at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, with her family at her side, Lydia Kehler passed away at the age of 86 years. Lydia was born on October 1, 1912 in the Edison District west of Camper. She married Jack Kehler on March 7, 1934, and farmed in the Oatfield District for many years. Moved to Eriksdale to the Friendly Villa, and then to the Personal Care Home where she spent her remaining years. She was a warm, loving, caring and kind person. Lydia enjoyed watching wrestling on TV, playing cards, bingo, puzzles and growing her beautiful flowers. She leaves to mourn her daughters, Shirley (John) Hanslip of Eriksdale, Sophie McFadyen of Winnipeg, and Delma Kehler of Eriksdale; sons, Ernest Kehler and Elsie of Winnipeg, Walter (Eleanor) Kehler of Eriksdale; also 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fred (Elsie), Rudolph (Margaret) and Lawrence (Babe) five sisters, Olga, Martha, Bertha, Norma (George) and Lorraine; along with many nieces, nephews and good friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, a brother Gus, and sisters, Lily and Wanda. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25 at the Camper Community Hall, with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Camper Cemetery. We wish to thank the staff at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, also to Dr. Steyn and Dr. Ward and former doctors and staff at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, for the wonderful care she received over the years. Flowers are welcomed and donations may be made to the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0.
