Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD STANLEY KORDA On the 21st of September at the Grace Hospital, in his favourite season of the year, our dear Edward died with loved ones at his side. Edward was born in 1917 in Ladywood, Manitoba to a pioneering immigrant family from Poland. He was the youngest of eight children in a loving family of Stanislaw and Paulina Korda. Edward was predeceased by his sisters, Mae, Anne, Amy and Carolyn and brothers, Walter, Joe and John. He is survived by Mona, his loving wife of 51 years; daughter Nancy (Darrel) Silo, and granddaughters, Robyn and Erin of Richmond, BC; son Robert (Kathleen) of Prince George, BC; son David (Janice) and granddaughters, Allison and Andrea of Winnipeg and daughter Maureen (Michael) Krauss of Winnipeg. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Joyce Brown and Katherine Corda, both of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. Edward had a long and enjoyable career with Air Canada, beginning in the early years of TCA and retiring in 1973. In the following years, before his health declined, Edward enjoyed pursuing his love of the outdoors, with hunting and fishing in all corners of his province. He took great pleasure in reliving these pleasant experiences with his many good friends. A devoted father, he passed on and instilled in his children and grandchildren his love and respect for nature and all the beauties of this world. Edward will also be remembered for his many innovative work projects and his satisfaction in trying to fix every broken thing. In accordance with Edwards wishes his body has been donated to the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Human Anatomy and Cell Science at the University of Manitoba. A memorial service will be held at St. Bedes Anglican Church, 99 Turner Avenue, St. James, on Friday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jamie Howison presiding. Friends and relatives wishing to make a memorial in Edwards name may support the charity significant to them.
