Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE ISABEL URQUHART In loving memory and sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, (Katherine) Isabel Urquhart on Sunday, September 19, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. at Deer Lodge Centre. Isabel was born on July 19, 1914 to Alice and Wilfred Willis in Saskatchewan. She grew up in Winnipeg, attended St. Johns High School and graduated from St. Johns College at the University of Manitoba in 1934. She taught school in rural Manitoba along the Saskatchewan border until she married (Harold William John) Ian Urquhart in 1939. She moved with Ian, an Anglican Priest of the Archdiocese of Rupertsland to Minnesota and later on to Watertown, South Dakota where Ian served as the Rector of an Episcopalian Church. In Watertown, two sons were born, Robert (Ian) in 1944 and Malcolm (Bruce) in 1951. After the early death of her husband in 1954, Isabel took her young family back to Winnipeg, Manitoba where she taught school in Winnipeg School Division #1, Fort Garry and St. James. After retirement Isabel took pleasure in travel, calligraphy, needlepoint, bridge and her family. Isabel is survived by sons, Robert (Connie) and Bruce (Dianne) grandchildren, Ian and Alanna and cousin Carol Enefer (Bill). Viewing will be held on Friday, September 24, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. entrance on Aubrey Street. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 25, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Georges Anglican Church, Grosvenor and Wilton. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society (for Breast Cancer Research & Services) 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
